Our favorite restaurants in town….

Parque Nacional Maracujá

 This is a food truck park located right on the lake.  They have a wide variety of food including pizza, tacos, traditional Mexican, vegetarian, hamburgers, chicken fingers and more.  They also have kayaks for guests to use and a beautiful dock for lounging.  They have a bar with great margaritas, beers and more.  

Baraka

Baraka is a full service resaurant located inside Parque Nacional Maracuja. They have Bacalar’s best breakfast/lunch (dinner opening soon). ….our good friends own this location.

La Finistere 

This is an Italian inspired restaurant with great pizzaas, pastas and more.  They have a good wine list and they are only open for dinner.  The ambience and service are great.  Reservations are recommended during the busy season.  

La Trattoria

La Trattoria is located in the main square and has the same owners as La Finistere.  This is also an Italian inspired menu with great service and ambience.  They serve breakfast and lunch as well.  Reservations are recommended for dinner.  

Mango e Chile

Mango e Chile is a wonderful vegetarian restaurant.  The food is fresh and delicious and the service is great.  

La Playita

La Playita is one of Bacalar’s longest standing restaurants.  It’s located right on the lake with plenty of seating and a large menu.  They have a large dock available for customers and they often have live music in the afternoon. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  

I Scream Bar

Ice cream bar is a great dinner/party spot.  After 9 pm it fills up with drinkers and is a local party spot during high season. (Our good friends own this location).

La Catrina

This is Bacalar’s local live music spot.  During the high season, they have live Mexican music every night.  They serve lunch and dinner as well.  

Mister Taco

Located in the main square with good cheap tacos.  They are usually PACKED!!!

Mia

Mia is a 5 star resort located not too far from Santuario on the lake.  They allow outside guests to dine at their restaurant, and we highly recommend their service and quality of food.  It’s important to note that you must mention that you are only dining in the restaurant when they let you in the gate.  

Restaurant Delivery

If you would like to order food for delivery please allow for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for your food to arrive.  Delivery takes a long time in Bacalar.

Kasa Ak’ab’al Boat & Jet Ski

This a very nice speed boat and they also rent out a Jet Ski. Send them a WhatsApp to reserve at +52 55 4580 1148. They charge $6,000 mxn for 4 hours for the boat.
